Keep one profile per person across channels, save filters as segments, and send email campaigns with unsubscribe links, suppression of bounces and opens and clicks reported.

**Contacts** keeps one profile per person across channels: their conversations, pages they visited, and your own custom fields.

- Import and export contacts as CSV; duplicates are matched.
- The same person on email and WhatsApp can be merged into one contact.
- Save filters as **segments** to report on or email.

## Campaigns

Send an email to a segment under **Campaigns**. Every email carries an unsubscribe link and your postal address (asked for before the first campaign). Unsubscribes and bounces are suppressed automatically, and you'll see opens and clicks. Only email people who agreed to hear from you.

## Building a good segment

A segment is a saved filter. Start with something precise, such as people who wrote in the last 30 days, or contacts who have not been seen for 90 days. Check the count before you send. Combine fields you maintain yourself with how recently someone was seen.

## Before your first campaign

Frosvo asks for your postal address before the first campaign, because email laws require it. If you want campaigns to come from your own address, connect your mail server first: see [sending email from your own address](/docs/own-email-sending), and read about [email delivery](/docs/email-deliverability-spf-dkim-dmarc).

## Keep consent clean

Collect marketing consent through a form or pop-up (see [Engage](/docs/engage)), and respect requests to delete data, as explained in [your data](/docs/privacy).

## Common questions

**Can the same person on email and WhatsApp be one contact?** Yes. Contacts with the same email or phone can be merged into one profile, so their history stays together.

**Where do contacts come from?** From chats where someone gives a name or email, forms and pop-ups, imports, and channels such as email and WhatsApp. Visitors who have not given any details stay anonymous.

**Can I add my own fields?** Yes. Custom fields hold what matters to you, such as plan or account number, and appear on the profile.

For sending, see [email campaigns](/docs/email-campaigns); to show who is signed in on your site, see [signed-in customers](/docs/identify-signed-in-customers).
