# Chat in your mobile apps

Source: https://frosvo.com/docs/mobile-apps

Add Frosvo chat to your iOS, Android, React Native and Flutter apps: download the SDK, show the chat from a Help button, add push notifications and sign-out.

Put the same chat in your own apps. Your customers open it from a Help button inside the app, your team answers from the shared inbox beside your website chats, and replies reach the phone as push notifications. There is an SDK for iOS, Android, React Native and Flutter.

## What are the mobile chat SDKs?

Each SDK is a small package you add to your app. You give it your website key once, then open the chat from your Help button. The chat is the same one your website visitors use, shown full screen inside your app, so it needs no screens of your own. It reports unread messages for a badge and remembers the person between launches.

## Which platforms are supported?

- **iOS**: a Swift package for iOS 14 and later.
- **Android**: a Kotlin module for Android 6.0 and later, usable from Kotlin or Java.
- **React Native**: a component for iOS and Android, in Expo or bare projects. It needs react-native-webview.
- **Flutter**: a widget for iOS and Android. It needs webview_flutter.

## How do I get the SDK?

Open **Settings → Mobile apps**, choose the website that stands for your app, and download the SDK for your platform. Each comes with a README. Step-by-step guides with code: [Android](/docs/add-chat-to-android-app), [iOS](/docs/add-chat-to-ios-app), [React Native](/docs/add-chat-to-react-native-app) and [Flutter](/docs/add-chat-to-flutter-app).

## How do I show who is writing?

Pass the signed-in user's name and email when someone signs in, so the team knows who is writing. To prove the user is who your app says, add a hash made on your own server with your website's identity secret: [show signed-in customers by name](/docs/identify-signed-in-customers) explains how. When someone signs out of your app, call the SDK's reset so the next person starts a fresh conversation.

## How do push notifications work?

1. Add your keys under **Settings → Mobile apps**: a **Firebase** service account (Android, and iOS apps using Firebase) and/or an **Apple Push** key (a .p8 file with its Key ID, Team ID and your app's bundle ID).
2. Pass the phone's push token to the SDK.

When your team replies and the customer has not seen it on screen within a few seconds, the reply is pushed to their phone. Tapping it opens that conversation. Phones that uninstalled the app are forgotten automatically. The settings page shows how many phones are registered.

## What if something does not work?

- **The chat opens blank.** Check the website key and the phone's internet connection.
- **No push notification arrives.** Check the credentials are saved for this website, the token reached the SDK, and notifications are allowed on the phone.
- **The wrong person's history shows.** Call the SDK's reset when someone signs out.

For your own screens or integrations, the [developer hub](/developers) has the REST API, real-time events and signed webhooks. For other problems, see [troubleshooting](/docs/troubleshooting).
