Chat SDK

Your support chat inside your mobile apps

SDKs for iOS, Android, React Native and Flutter put the same chat in your apps, with push notifications for replies — and a real-time API for everything else you build.

In short

Frosvo's chat SDKs add the same live chat you run on your website to your own iOS, Android, React Native and Flutter apps. Your app opens a full-screen chat from a Help button, passes the signed-in user, and shows an unread badge, while replies reach the phone as push notifications. Every conversation arrives in the same shared inbox as your website chats.

What you get

Four SDKs
iOS (Swift), Android (Kotlin), React Native and Flutter.
Push notifications
Replies the visitor hasn't seen go to their phone through Firebase or Apple Push.
Signed-in users
Pass your user's name and email so the team knows who's writing.
One inbox
App conversations arrive beside your website chats.
Real-time API
Every message and status change over WebSocket or Server-Sent Events.
REST API and webhooks
Read and answer conversations from your own code.

Get started

  1. Download the SDK

From Settings → Mobile apps or the developer hub.

  2. Open the chat

One call from your Help button.

  3. Add push

Your Firebase or Apple key, and the phone's token.

How do the mobile chat SDKs work?

Each SDK is a small package you add to your app. You configure it once with your website key, then call one function from a Help button to open the chat. The chat screen is your Frosvo chat shown inside the app, so it looks and behaves like the chat on your website, and the team answers it from the same inbox.

The SDK reports unread messages so you can show a badge on your Help button, remembers the person between launches, and has a reset call for when someone signs out of your app, so the next person never sees the previous person's history.

Which platforms and versions are supported?

iOS 14 and later through a Swift package with no dependencies. Android 6.0 and later (API 23), in Kotlin or Java. React Native on iOS and Android, in Expo or bare projects, with react-native-webview as its one peer dependency. Flutter on iOS and Android, with webview_flutter. Each download comes with a README and the same four calls: configure, set the user, open the chat and reset.

How do push notifications work in the app?

Add your Firebase service account and, for iOS, an Apple Push key under Settings, Mobile apps. Your app passes the phone's push token to the SDK. When your team replies and the person has not read it on screen, the reply is pushed to the phone, and tapping the notification opens that conversation.

How does my team know who is writing?

Pass the signed-in user's name and email when someone signs in. To prove the user is who your app says, add a hash made on your own server with a secret from Frosvo; the team then sees a verified customer and their history follows them to any device. The identity guide explains how to make the hash.

Frequently asked questions

What is a chat SDK?

A chat SDK is a package you add to your app that gives it a ready-made chat. With Frosvo's SDKs you do not build the chat screen yourself: you configure it with your website key and open it from a Help button.

How do I add live chat to an Android app?

Add the Frosvo Android module to your project, call Frosvo.configure with your website key once, and call Frosvo.open from a Help button. The Android guide has the Gradle lines, the push setup and the sign-out call.

How do I add live chat to an iOS app?

Add the Frosvo Swift package in Xcode, call Frosvo.configure with your website key once, and call Frosvo.present from a Help button. The iOS guide covers push notifications and signing out.

Does the SDK work with React Native and Flutter?

Yes. There is a React Native component, which needs react-native-webview and works in Expo, and a Flutter widget that needs webview_flutter. Both cover iOS and Android.

Can customers get replies as push notifications?

Yes. Add a Firebase service account and or an Apple Push key under Settings, Mobile apps. Replies are pushed only when the person has not already read them on screen.

Do the conversations arrive in my existing inbox?

Yes. App conversations arrive in the same shared inbox as your website chats, labelled with the website your app uses, so your team answers everything in one place.

Is the mobile SDK free?

The SDKs are free to download. They connect to a website in your Frosvo workspace, so that website's plan applies: the chat and the shared inbox are on the free plan, and the AI assistant is on the paid plans.
