Frosvo Live Chat plugin for WordPress

A free, lightweight WordPress plugin that adds Frosvo's live chat to every page of your site — answered by your team from one shared inbox, by an AI assistant trained on your content, or both.

Free · GPL-2.0-or-later · frosvo-wordpress.zip

What the plugin does

The plugin adds the Frosvo chat script to the public pages of your WordPress site, the standard WordPress way, so it works with any theme, block theme or page builder. It never touches your posts or pages, and it adds nothing to the WordPress admin except one settings screen.

Optionally, it tells Frosvo the name and email of visitors who are signed in to WordPress or WooCommerce, so your team knows who is writing. Connect the WooCommerce integration in Frosvo and each customer's orders appear beside the conversation.

Everything else happens in Frosvo: your team answers from the shared inbox, the AI assistant answers from your own content and hands over when it should, and email, WhatsApp and social messages arrive in the same place. Read live chat for WordPress for tips and what your team sees beside each chat.

How to install the WordPress plugin

  1. Download the plugin zip from this page.
  2. In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the zip and click Install Now, then Activate.
  3. Create a free Frosvo account if you haven't, add your website and copy its site key (Settings → Websites).
  4. In WordPress, open Settings → Frosvo Chat, paste the site key and save. Visit your site: the chat button appears in the corner.

Settings

Site key
Identifies your website in Frosvo. Find it in Frosvo under Settings → Websites; each website you add there has its own key.
Frosvo address
Where the chat is loaded from. Leave it as https://frosvo.com unless you run your own Frosvo server.
Signed-in visitors
Off by default. Turn it on to send the name and email of signed-in WordPress users to Frosvo, so they don't have to type them again.
Administrators
On by default: people who can manage the site don't see the chat, so your team never starts a conversation by accident while editing.

Updating

Upload the new zip the same way (Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin) and WordPress offers to replace the installed version. Your settings are kept.

Removing

Deactivate and delete the plugin under Plugins. Deleting it also removes its settings from your database; your conversations stay in Frosvo.

If the chat doesn't show

The chat doesn't appear

Check that the site key is filled in and matches the website in Frosvo, then open your site in a private window (you won't see the chat while signed in as an administrator with "Administrators" ticked). Clear any page cache after changing settings.

A caching or optimisation tool is installed

Tools that combine, delay or move scripts can stop the chat from loading. Exclude frosvo.com/w.js from those features.

Your site sends a Content Security Policy

Allow https://frosvo.com in script-src and frame-src (and your own Frosvo address if you changed it), because the chat loads a script and a frame from there.

Still stuck? See installing the chat or contact us.

What is sent to Frosvo

The plugin makes no calls from your server. Visitors' browsers load the chat from Frosvo, and when someone opens the chat their messages, attachments, the page they're on, browser details and IP address go to Frosvo so your team can answer. With the signed-in option on, the user's name and email are sent too. See the privacy policy and security.

WordPress plugin: questions and answers

Is the Frosvo WordPress plugin free?

Yes. The plugin is free and open source (GPL), and Frosvo's free plan gives you the chat, the shared inbox and the apps with no time limit. The AI assistant is on the paid plans.

Does it slow down my WordPress site?

The plugin itself runs no code on your pages except one small script tag in the footer, and the full chat window only loads when a visitor opens it.

Does it work with WooCommerce?

Yes. The chat works on every WooCommerce page, and with the WooCommerce integration connected in Frosvo your team sees the customer's orders next to the chat.

Can I use it on several WordPress sites?

Yes. Install the plugin on each site and give each its own site key from the same Frosvo workspace; every conversation arrives in one inbox labelled with its site.

Can I answer chats from my phone?

Yes. Open the Frosvo desk in your phone's browser and turn on notifications; on a computer, use any browser or the Frosvo app for Windows. Every conversation from your site is waiting in the same inbox.

What happens when nobody is online?

Set opening hours in Frosvo. Outside them, visitors can leave their email and your reply reaches them there; on the paid plans, the AI assistant keeps answering from your own knowledge.

Your customers are already asking. Be there to answer.

Free to start. Live on your site in minutes.
