Buyers ask questions about items before and after they buy. Answer them quickly and in one place.
What you need
- An eBay seller account.
- A developer account at developer.ebay.com.
- Owner or Channels permission in Frosvo.
Steps
- At developer.ebay.com create a production keyset and copy the App ID (Client ID) and Cert ID (Client Secret).
- Under User Tokens, choose Get a Token from eBay via Your Application (OAuth), sign in as the seller and copy the user refresh token.
- In Frosvo go to Channels, click Add channel and choose eBay.
- Pick the website, name the connection and paste the App ID and Cert ID. Enter your eBay site ID if you do not sell on eBay US.
- Paste the User refresh token.
- Click Save and check. When the ticks show Saved and Account checked, click Turn on messaging.
You do not need a callback: Frosvo asks eBay for new messages regularly.
What to expect
Buyers' questions arrive every few minutes. Each buyer and item is its own conversation, so you always see which item is being discussed. Replies go back through eBay as plain text, up to 2000 characters.
Keep it working
The refresh token lasts about 18 months. Put a reminder in your calendar, create a new token before it ends and paste it in Frosvo. If the token stops working, owners are alerted on the Problems page.
Troubleshooting
If Save and check fails, make sure you used the production keyset and not the sandbox, and that the token belongs to the seller account. See troubleshooting. A similar review channel is Google Play. Browse all channels in the channels overview, or read about answering in the inbox.
Common questions
Which eBay sites are supported? Enter the site ID for the site you sell on. 0 is eBay US, 3 is the UK and 77 is Germany.
Why do buyers appear as separate conversations? Each buyer and item is its own thread, so a question about one item never mixes with another.
