App reviews are public, and a good answer shows future users that you care. Reply from the same inbox as everything else.
What you need
- A Google Play developer account with your app published.
- A Google Cloud project where you can create a service account.
- Owner or Channels permission in Frosvo.
Steps
- In Google Cloud create a service account and download a JSON key. Enable the Google Play Android Developer API for the project.
- In Play Console → Users and permissions, invite the service account and give it Reply to reviews.
- In Frosvo go to Channels, click Add channel and choose Google Play reviews.
- Pick the website, name the connection, and enter your App package name, such as
com.example.app. - Paste the whole Service account key (JSON).
- Click Save and check. When the ticks show Saved and Account checked, click Turn on messaging.
No callback is needed: Frosvo asks Google for reviews regularly.
What to expect
New and edited reviews arrive every few minutes. Each review is its own conversation in the Inbox. Your reply is posted publicly under the review and is limited to 350 characters.
Tips
- Thank people briefly, and fix problems in the reply rather than in private.
- Never put personal details in a public reply.
- Write one or two shared replies for common complaints.
- Add a workflow to flag one-star reviews.
Troubleshooting
If Save and check fails, check the JSON key is complete, the API is enabled, and the service account has the reply permission. See troubleshooting. A similar marketplace channel is eBay. The channels overview lists the rest.
Common questions
What if I have several apps? Create one connection per app, each with its own package name.
Are replies public? Yes. A reply appears publicly under the review, so never include personal details.
