Viber bots let customers message your business in an app they already use.
What you need
- A Viber account and a bot created at partners.viber.com.
- Owner or Channels permission in Frosvo.
Steps
- Create the bot at partners.viber.com and copy its authentication token.
- In Frosvo go to Channels, click Add channel and choose Viber.
- Pick the website, name the connection, type the name customers see (maximum 28 characters) and paste the Bot authentication token.
- Click Save and check. Frosvo saves the connection and checks the account in one go.
- Click Turn on messaging.
- Copy the address from the Steps to turn it on panel in Frosvo and register it with Viber using its
set_webhookcall. Viber checks the address, and Frosvo answers the check. - Message your bot from Viber and confirm the conversation appears in the Inbox, then reply.
What to expect
Messages arrive as conversations from Viber, and your replies are delivered with delivery and seen receipts, so you can tell when a customer has read an answer.
Tips
- Use a clear sender name that matches your brand.
- Keep replies short.
- Use shared replies for questions you answer often.
Troubleshooting
If the registration fails, enable messaging first and try again. If Save and check says the token is rejected, copy it again from the Viber partners page. More help is in the troubleshooting guide. Similar chat apps: LINE and Telegram. See the channels overview for everything else.
Common questions
Can several people use one bot? Yes. Customers message the bot, and everyone on your team can answer from the shared inbox.
Can I change the name later? Yes. Edit the connection in Frosvo and save, keeping within 28 characters.
What if the token is rejected? Copy the whole token again from the Viber partners page without spaces, save it and open the channel with Edit and click Save and check.
