By default, emails for your website go out from Frosvo's mail server. If you would rather they came from your own address, connect your mail server (SMTP) to the website. Visitors then see your company in the From line, replies land in your own mailbox, and your domain's reputation does the delivery work.
Before you start
Have these from your email provider: the SMTP server name, the port, a username and password (usually the full mailbox address), and the address you want to send from. For a typical hosting mailbox this is port 465 with TLS. You need to be an owner of the workspace.
Connect it
- Go to Settings → Websites, click Open next to the website, then Email sending.
- Fill in Server (host), Port, Username and Password.
- Tick Use TLS from the start (port 465) if your server uses port 465. Leave it off for port 587.
- Fill in From name (for example KryoHost Support) and From address.
- Click Save and connect. Frosvo tries to sign in; you will see Connected or the reason it couldn't.
- Click Send test email. It arrives in your own inbox, so you can check how it looks.
Until it says Connected, emails keep going out through Frosvo. To go back at any time, click Remove.
What uses it
- Reply emails to visitors who left the chat.
- Chat transcripts emailed to your team.
- Email campaigns for that website (campaigns).
Each website has its own setting, so you can use a different address for each brand.
Change the password later
Open the same window and leave Password empty to keep the saved one, or type a new one and click Save and connect again.
Common problems
- "The mail server refused the sign-in." Check the username (often the full address) and password. Gmail and Outlook need an app password.
- "Couldn't connect." Check the server name and port; ports 465 and 587 are the usual ones. Servers on private networks aren't allowed.
- Emails still come from Frosvo. The status line shows Not in use until a sign-in succeeds, and it shows the last problem.
- Mail goes to spam. Make sure your domain has SPF, DKIM and DMARC records for your mail provider.
If sending keeps failing, the owner is emailed and the problem is listed on the Problems page.
