Instagram messages are often questions about products. Bring them into the same inbox as chats and email.
What you need
- A professional Instagram account (business or creator).
- A Meta app with Instagram messaging.
- Owner or Channels permission in Frosvo.
Step 1: prepare Meta
- Connect the professional Instagram account to your Meta app.
- Grant messaging permissions and complete the required app review.
- Note the Professional account ID, create an Access token, and copy your App secret.
- Choose a Webhook verify token.
Step 2: save in Frosvo
- Go to Channels, click Add channel and choose Instagram.
- Pick the website, name the connection, and paste the account ID, Access token, App secret and Webhook verify token.
- Click Save and check.
Step 3: subscribe the callback
Copy the address from the Steps to turn it on panel in Frosvo, set it as the webhook in your Meta app with the verify token, and subscribe to messages. Then tick I have added this address in Meta.
Step 4: check and enable
Make sure Account checked has a tick, then click Turn on messaging. Send a direct message to the account from another profile. It should appear in the Inbox as an Instagram conversation. Reply from Frosvo and confirm it arrives.
Reply window
Like Messenger and WhatsApp, Instagram limits replies to a window after the customer's message. Answer promptly, and use automation to flag conversations that are close to running out.
Troubleshooting
If Save and check fails, confirm the token has not expired and that the account is still professional and linked to the app. See troubleshooting. For the sister channel, read Messenger, and see the channels overview for everything else.
Common questions
Can I connect several Instagram accounts? Create one connection for each professional account.
Why would messages stop arriving? Access tokens can expire. open the channel with Edit and click Save and check, create a new token in Meta if needed and save it.
